#Contour shuttle pro 2 settings lightroom softwareThe software however is very old and I'm concerned by the lack of updates it receives. There's also a collar around the wheel you can grab and rotate - again it moves in quite large steps but you can bind a specific action to each step of this movement which is useful. #Contour shuttle pro 2 settings lightroom windowsIt would be nice if it was a little more responsive (you have to turn it quite a way to register a movement) but I appreciate that this limitation is more because it would react to things too fast with the default Windows setup and not a design issue with the device itself. ![]() Spinning it round to scroll up/down or zoom in/out never gets old. It costs 50% more than the Xpress but the quality is 2-3x as good. The extra number of buttons is great (you can put a small included printed icon under each one to highlight the function, but as each app can have different functions I wouldn't bother), they feel tactile and have a satisfying click and the middle wheel is actual, proper metal (shock horror) and feels heavy and is lovely to rotate with a finger. ![]() If you're on the fence about which to get, go for this one. Eventually I upgraded to the ShuttlePro v2 and it's a big increase in quality over the plasticky Xpress. It takes a while to adjust and adapt your workflow to new things but once you have them setup it's very efficient. I haven't got into the depths of using macros and stuff yet perhaps I will expand into this as I get better.Ī friend of mine initially gave me the smaller ShuttleXpress, and it didn't grab me much at first. I still hit a lot of keyboard shortcuts too - but less often - so it's definitely faster for me overall. So I'm right handed - and I use the ShuttlePro with my left hand, and my mouse on the right - and this seems to be the most ergonomic solution for me. The main use of the ShuttlePro for me is to navigate the timeline, zoom in and out and do some of the more frequent tasks when video editing without having to dart around the keyboard as much. But we'll see here - perhaps there is a place for it in some of the other apps it delivers to in time. I'm a huge keyboard shortcut user anyway and I have a Logitech MX Master 3, a Wacom tablet and a Elgato Stream Deck already on my desk which are all configured to aid my workflow on creative projects. I'm not sure I'm really going to need its functionality in Photoshop or Lightroom - even though I use both apps frequently. It was easy in the end - and now my ShuttlePRO v2 is up and running and it totally enables me to edit video faster. but here's the main thing.Ĭontour were just fabulous! - I was given such good customer service! - they sent me a new one straight away just because the paper inserts had been omitted from the previous (which may have not even been their fault) and then they sent me a mail with a step by step guide to quickly get it up and running with Big Sur. I think my story was perhaps a little unusual, since I haven't found anyone else complaining about teething troubles. so it was all a bit unnecessary at first. #Contour shuttle pro 2 settings lightroom driverI also had some issues with the beta driver they recommended. #Contour shuttle pro 2 settings lightroom macI had a bit of a journey at first when I bought my first ShuttlePROv2 since the paper button inserts weren't in the box and also, probably more importantly, it didn't work! - It wasn't faulty, it was a driver thing - Big Sur on Mac had just come out, and, as was explained by a Contour rep I spoke with, the updates from Apple happen too frequently for the team at Contour to keep up sometimes. ![]()
